Nigel Farage was declared the winner of the Clacton by-election Friday morning, seeing off an array of independents and novelty candidates in a race boycotted by other mainstream political party candidates.
The Reform UK leader won the special contest he called amid scrutiny of his finances with 22,239 votes, with his nearest rival, Count Binface, coming second with 9,455 votes.
Farage got 1,014 more votes this time around than in 2024 — albeit against no real competition. Turnout was 44.37 percent.
The special contest was triggered by Farage himself, with the right-wing populist billing it as a “people versus the establishment” chance to boost his personal mandate amid parliamentary investigations into his finances.
